He stated that Abu Dhabi Police recently monitored several methods used by fraudsters over the phone to lure their victims and seize their banking data, including contacting the victims through a mobile phone, not landline, and claiming that they won fake prizes, and with large sums of money from well-known institutions, and asking the victim to update his banking data, And providing them with the secret numbers of his credit cards, warning against links to fraudulent websites that mimic government and other institutions.

In addition, the Abu Dhabi Police launched a campaign, "Khebak cautious" in its third edition, with the aim of educating individuals about the dangers of telephone and electronic fraud, which require caution in dealing with them. The director of the criminal security sector, Brigadier Mohammed Suhail Al-Rashdi, confirmed that the campaign addresses the public in four languages ​​(Arabic, English, Urdu and Hindi), and a warning of telephone and electronic fraud, which promotes winning fake prizes in modern and traditional technical methods.

He mentioned that the campaign includes many activities and activities, including community councils, and Friday sermons, with the participation of famous social networking sites, as well as Abu Dhabi police platforms, and various media outlets, distributing awareness brochures, sending text messages, awareness lectures, and others.

He continued that the campaign urges the public to be wary of fraudsters who use tempting methods of phone or internet fraud, pointing to the need to pay attention not to deal with strange numbers, maintain the confidentiality of personal financial information, inform the security services immediately upon receiving a suspicious phone call, and take caution in dealing With contacts and phone messages, and verify their source.

He called on mobile users to not be driven away by the hoaxes that their owners delude in winning valuable prizes, without basic reference to them, as many reports indicated that they are fake prizes, aiming to either seize the financial balance or enter into a "complex network" of communications and phone messages. Deceptive, which ends up draining sums from no real return.

He referred to the fraudulent methods used by fraudsters by sending text messages or "WhatsApp", with the aim of fraud by banning the bank's ATM card, because his data was not updated, and asking him to communicate with a phone number to update in a correct manner, allowing fraudsters to get to know his data and defraud him.
