"In Ankara, Ambassador Jeffrey will meet with senior officials from Turkey and discuss issues of mutual concern, including the military operation of the Assad regime in Idlib, which Russia supports," the statement said.
In addition, the US Special Representative will take part in a security conference in German Munich on February 13.
Earlier, the State Department blamed Moscow, Tehran and Damascus for aggravating the situation in Syria against the backdrop of an attack on the Turkish military in the Idlib de-escalation zone.
