According to police, the woman who lives in central Trelleborg had received a phone call from someone who said to represent a bank. Then she got a home visit from someone who claimed to be in the bank's case.
The woman left a bank card and code for the man. The police were then alerted and arrived at the address. The perpetrator had then already tried to take out a loan in the woman's name, without succeeding.
Police arrested a 35-year-old man near the crime scene. He is suspected of fraud and of cooperating in the crime with another person, police say.
