Canada's Nick Taylor snatched the victory in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am tournament, counting for the American Professional Golf Circuit (PGA), by making a card of 68, two strokes under par, on the last route.

Taylor thus won his second PGA title, after that of the Sanderson Farms Championship in 2014.

American Phil Mickelson, who finished third, failed to achieve a sixth victory in this tournament, which would have been an absolute record.

Taylor was just one stroke ahead of Mickelson at the start of the final day, and finished five lengths ahead (19 and 14 respectively under par). Between them was the American Kevin Streelman (15 under par).

Taylor increased his meager initial lead on the 15th and 17th holes as the temperature dropped and the wind started to come in.

"It was amazing," said Taylor (31). "One day with ups and downs. I thought I could do it because I already did it before, but doing it that way, playing with Phil, of course gives me a lot of confidence to move forward."
