The military court of Blida, about fifty kilometers from Algiers, thus confirms the sentence which had been imposed on them, at first instance. They are accused of conspiracy, accused of having held a meeting to destabilize the military high command, at the end of March, when the army called for the departure of former President Abdelaziz Bouteflika. The latter resigned a few days later in April.

Fifteen years in prison confirmed therefore, for Saïd Bouteflika and the generals Mohamed Mediene, known as Toufik, and Athmane Tartag.

However, their co-accused, Louisa Hanoune, secretary general of the Workers' Party, was not found guilty of conspiracy. According to one of her lawyers, Maître Boudjemaâ Guechir, the court nevertheless considered that she was aware of a plot which she did not denounce. She is therefore condemned, this time, for not denouncing a plot.

Louisa Hanoune saw her sentence reduced to 3 years in prison, including 9 months in prison, the rest suspended. It is therefore released from Monday evening. A delegation from his party was waiting to welcome him upon his release from prison.
