Chinese health authorities announced the increase in the number of new cases of the new Corona virus to 34 thousand people, the number of deaths to 722 people, and recorded within 24 hours 86 additional deaths, the largest number of deaths in one day of this virus.
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region has begun enforcing severe quarantine measures to tackle the new Corona virus, which has confirmed 320 infections in 30 countries and regions, and two deaths in Hong Kong and the Philippines.
The new Corona virus outcome is close to the number of deaths from the SARS virus (severe acute respiratory syndrome) that reached 774 people worldwide between 2002 and 2003. But it exceeded the death toll from SARS in mainland China and Hong Kong, where 650 people died of the virus.
