She won first place in the “Emirates for the Young World” competition, the student Nora Ahmed Al Zaabi, who is one of the people of determination (blind), as part of a team that also included the two students, Juwairiya Haitham and Maria Al Balushi, from Al Shifa Bint Abdullah Secondary School for Girls, on the “Nora Braille” project .

The student Al-Zaabi told «Emirates Today» that the project is a device linked to the mobile phone through a smart application (PRA), and a glove wears the required in one finger, and through which he can touch the glove the device to read the written on the mobile phone.

Al-Zaabi pointed out that the device could be carried in the pocket because of its small size, adding that she and her two colleagues took about three months to complete this project.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Education announced the winners of the Emirates for the Young World competition and the Challenge of “Young Innovators”, as part of the closing ceremony of the National Festival of Science, Technology and Innovation 2020 in its fourth edition, which witnessed a great momentum in events and activities over five continuous days, aimed at promoting Innovation among students and at the community level.

The festival includes 34 awards, 18 of which are cash, provided by the Ministry to the winning students, in addition to eight specialized awards offered by several parties participating in the festival, and three prizes for participants in the “Young Innovators Challenge”, along with four awards for the best teacher from each category of the Emirates World Contest The young man, in addition to a prize dedicated to the best participating school, and the cash prizes amount to 326 thousand dirhams.

In the current edition, the Emirates World Competition for the Young World attracted 2,472 projects submitted by 5791 students from 427 schools from various state and private schools. The competition simulates multiple fields, which are technology, biological sciences, environment, chemistry, physics, mathematics, social and behavioral sciences, and the competition enables students to participate later in specialized international scientific festivals and events, according to the field of each student and his project in the competition.

The National Science, Technology and Innovation Festival witnessed a student retreat, in which an elite group of students participated, along with officials and decision makers from both the government and private sectors. The competition focuses this year on the discovery and support of business leaders while they are on the seats of study, as the participating students discuss several scientific mechanisms that contribute to enabling the relevant authorities to discover their talents in the field of entrepreneurship, and provide effective initiatives in this regard that will create an incubating and stimulating school environment For entrepreneurship.
