French judoka Clarisse Agbegnenou (-63 kg) launched her Olympic year perfectly by winning the prestigious Paris tournament for the sixth time in her career, winning the final against Japanese Nami Nabekura on Saturday in Bercy.

Agbegnenou, quadruple world champion (2014, 2017, 2018, 2019) will aim for the Olympic title in Tokyo in just over five months (July 24-August 9), the only one missing from his record.

She also takes revenge against Nabekura, who inflicted her first defeat in two years in Qingdao (China) in the Masters final in mid-December.

The day of the Frenchwomen ended in Paris with another podium, with the 3rd place of Mélanie Clément (-48 kg), and the fifth places of Sarah-Léonie Cysique (-57 kg), Shirine Boukli (-48 kg) and Astride Gneto (-52 kg).

In the men's category, no Frenchman made it to the quarterfinals, while Teddy Riner (+100 kg) will start his Olympic season on Sunday in Bercy.
