On February 5, an elderly woman in Jakobsberg will be called by a man. He explains that he is a police officer and that someone has taken out money in the woman's name. He says that they must therefore meet to raise a notification.
But the man is not a police officer.
This is one of several cases in a short time where the elderly are being cheated on money and valuables in Järfälla. The police are currently investigating a dozen scams against the elderly, so-called aging crimes, in the municipality where fraudsters claim to be from the police, Swish or various banks.
- We are trying to call in these perpetrators now, says Magnus Nilsson, Järfälla Municipal Police.
Those who have been exposed in the municipality are between 82-101 years old.
