Foreign Minister Raab visits Japan to strengthen relations after withdrawal from the EU February 8 9:32

British Foreign Minister Raab will visit Japan on the 8th.
This is the first time that a major minister has visited a foreign country since Britain withdrew from the European Union, and we would like to meet with Foreign Minister Mogi and Minister Koizumi to strengthen relations after the withdrawal.

British Foreign Minister Raab is the first major minister to visit abroad since leaving the EU, and will visit Japan on August 8 following Australia.

In Japan, I would like to meet with Foreign Minister Mogi to confirm the close relationship between the two countries before negotiations for a free trade agreement after the withdrawal, and to further strengthen them.

It also plans to address nuclear issues in North Korea and maritime security in the Indo-Pacific region.

"Japan is a wonderful friend and our closest security partner in Asia. Now that we have left, the UK can take advantage of our open trade and investment opportunities." And commented.

Minister Raab will also meet with Minister of the Environment Koizumi to exchange views before the United Nations Conference on Global Warming "COP26" to be held in the United Kingdom this November.

Foreign Minister Raab will visit Singapore and Malaysia in the future, and after the withdrawal, has clearly stated his emphasis on the Asia-Pacific region as the United Kingdom, aiming to strengthen relations with countries other than the EU.
