A 37-year-old man has just been brought before the parquet of Bourg-en-Bresse (Ain) for involuntary injuries, driving without a license and lack of insurance. The facts date back to January 15 in the town of Belley (Ain). In a rush when going to work, the suspect would not have bothered to properly defrost his windshield. Problem of size: he would have struck a pedestrian only a few meters after his departure, causing him three days of temporary incapacity for work (ITT).

The driver would then not have bothered to worry about the fate of the victim, fleeing at the wheel of his vehicle. According to information from Le Progrès , the 30-year-old was afraid of the consequences since, in addition to this accident, he would be driving without a license and without insurance. There followed an astonishing decision: he would have hidden his car in the Furans, a tributary of the Rhône.

Not completely submerged, it was found and fished out by the gendarmerie, with the help of a farmer, after an alert given by a passerby. During this time, the suspect had already been arrested using surveillance cameras from the town of Belley. He was released and summoned to trial in March by the criminal court.
