The process of destroying drugs was attended by the Attorney General of the Emirate of Dubai, Counselor Essam Issa Al-Humaidan. The process of destroying the seized drugs came within the strategy of the Public Prosecution of the Emirate of Dubai in implementing the provisions of the law and the judiciary, and contributing to protecting society.

The drugs that were destroyed included seizures of about 215 drug cases, for the years 2017, 2018 and 2019, and the number of damaged and confiscated properties obtained by a court decision for drug cases reached 152 points, while the weight of the damaged quantity amounted to 2543.66 kg.

In addition, 1,499 guards imported from the General Department of Narcotics Control at Dubai Police were destroyed, and the weight of the damaged quantity reached 385.44 kg.

The damaged quantity included various types of drugs, and in many forms, such as tablets, fluids, etc., which were completely destroyed.

The Attorney General of the Emirate of Dubai said that destroying these narcotic substances in these quantities comes within the framework of implementing the law, paying damages to society, and protecting it from these toxins, and stresses the need to get rid of them and make efforts to control and seize them.

He added that the scourge of drugs necessitates putting all the capabilities to confront them, following up and controlling their promoters and referring them to justice, warning of these toxic substances and raising awareness of their dangers, especially among youth groups.

Al-Humaidan praised the efforts of the General Department of Narcotics Control in Dubai and its efforts to prevent and control drugs of all shapes and types.
