As part of the visit, Lavrov will meet with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez.
As the minister noted in an interview with Prensa Latina, he intends to commemorate the leader of the Cuban revolution, Fidel Castro, and visit the cemetery of St. Iphigenia, where the graves of other fighters for independence of Cuba are located.
After a visit to Santiago de Cuba, Lavrov will leave for Mexico.
Earlier, Lavrov criticized US sanctions against Cuba.
