Police initially thought it was burglary in a cabin when they saw two men loading things into a car.

But when the cops entered the cabin, they were met by a very strong scent of cannabis. And that turned out to be a reason for that.

In the cottage were several cultivation tents with marijuana plants, cuttings and two kilos of dried cannabis.

According to the investigation, the cottage appeared to have been used solely for growing marijuana in.

200 cannabis plants in the cottage

The 87-year-old cabin owner is now charged with drug offenses. Two other men in their 50s are also charged with cultivation.

The trio is also being prosecuted for attempted drug offenses because the prosecutor says they intended to produce significantly larger amounts of cannabis than the two kilos of dried marijuana found in the cabin.

There were over 200 plants in the cottage.

All suspects completely deny crime. At the hearing, the older man said:

- I'm 87 years old. Should I start growing cannabis now?
