In a new post shortly after the correction announcement, the Democrats in Iowa wrote on their official Twitter account that an update of the results has now been made.

So far, they have released figures for 85 percent of the electoral districts, but over a period of time a number of recent results would not have been correct. It is currently unclear which district figures were affected.

In the comments below the post, upset Twitter users write that the party should just release all raw data. Some of the Democratic candidates themselves have also questioned how long it can take to get all the figures out.

In-app encoding error

The background to the voice crash is a new app that would be used to record the results. But a coding problem meant that many campaigners could not send their results. The company that built the app has apologized and the Iowa Democrats chairman, Troy Price, has called the delay "unacceptable."

Price said at a press conference yesterday, when 62 percent of the figures were released, that they worked day and night to announce some results and that it was ensured that the figures they released were accurate.
