- We should know that very little of the money spent by tourists will benefit the actual travel reason, but most of the money will have effects in the form of transport, housing costs, trade and more, says Andreas Lind, CEO of the tourism organization Swedish Lapland Visitors Board.

"It means lots"

In Swedish Lapland, it is believed that this type of tourism has already become very important for the survival of sparsely populated areas and that it will become even more important in the future. People create their own jobs and can thus live in sparsely populated places and in communities where it has become more difficult to find jobs.

- It is not only a question for the big cities, but it is also in sparsely populated and extremely sparsely populated areas that means lots, says Andreas Lind.
