- There is a continued decline. I think it is due to poor profitability combined with the fact that some fish stocks are very weak, says Patrik Persson, Head of Unit at the Sea and Water Authority to the Siren News Agency.
In January 2020, there were 21 fishing licenses in Östergötland for professional fishermen, in 2015 the same figure was 23. Gotland has had an even more dramatic reduction. In 2020, there are 26 fishing licenses, compared with 36 in 2015.
