Google informed users of its Google Takeout service on Tuesday that a computer bug could allow other users to access their personal photos and videos.

The Google Takeout tool allows you to copy content from a Google account to save it elsewhere or use it with other software, outside the Californian group's ecosystem.

"We are in the process of reporting about a bug that may have affected Google Takeout users who exported their photos and videos between November 21 and 25," said a spokesperson for the company. response to a request from AFP.

"These users may have received either incomplete archives, or videos or photos that were not theirs. We have fixed the underlying problem and thoroughly analyzed what happened to prevent it from happening again. We are sorry that this happened, "he said.

Less than 0.01% of users of Google's "Photos" software were affected, according to the site 9to5Google.

But it can still represent thousands of people, knowing that Google Photos has 1 billion users, according to an article by Fast Company published last July.
