Employees revealed 5 secrets about the Tesla electric car

Tesla cars feature a variety of features that may not be familiar to customers who are used to driving fuel vehicles.

Business Insider has asked five of the company’s current and former employees about what customers do not know about their cars and should know.

These employees worked for Tesla in 2019 and requested that their identities not be revealed due to fear of legal accountability from the company. Here's what the current and former employees have said:

Serving for years
Despite the fact that some customers are concerned about running out of battery in their car, a former sales representative said, "Tesla was built to last."

It can teach you how to use it
"Many people don't know that there are educational lessons in their cars now," said a current sales representative. "This is a really good thing, and these lessons should be reviewed after the customer gets the car."

It is best to do your research before receiving the car
"We spent only 10-15 minutes delivering the car to the customer and doing the paperwork," the sales representative added, but stressed the extreme importance "for customers to do their research in advance, because we don't have much time to spend with them."

Delivery times on Tesla are not always accurate
A former sales representative said that Tesla might say your car would be ready for delivery within two weeks, but "we have no idea in fact," adding "it will appear when it's ready."

"Sometimes it takes two days. Delivery, sometimes it is four weeks, maybe five."

The quality of production is not always excellent
A former sales representative said the interior comfort, finishing and quality of materials used in a Tesla car is not always great.

"I sold an S-car to my friend's father, and during his drive for a little while, the door handles were broken three times," the delegate added.
