Member of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah, Head of the Human Resources Department, Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadem, confirmed that His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, directed the employment of 2500 citizens of the Emirate in the governmental institutions, bodies and departments of Sharjah, during the current year .

He added that there is a tendency to create graduate jobs in line with future developments and the existing professional and technical specializations.

This came during his announcement yesterday of the details of the sixth Sharjah Conference for Human Resources 2020, whose activities will be held on February 19 and 20, titled "The Future of Human Resources Where?", And its activities include a discussion on the challenges of future jobs.

Bin Khadim confirmed that the department was able to provide 2786 jobs for citizens who graduated from universities, diplomas and public secondary schools, during the past year, including 58 jobs in the private sector, indicating that there is a current trend to employ citizens in this sector in cooperation with some private agencies and companies, to secure a decent life for them.

Bin Khadim continued that providing job opportunities for the people of the emirate is evidence of harnessing all the potentials for investing human energies, and finding distinguished and appropriate national cadres to work in government departments and bodies.

And that there are great efforts for the sustainability of the human resource, indicating that the conference will raise many important issues in the field of human resources, and will discuss changes in the field of work and the trend towards the digital economy in exchange for the decline of many traditional jobs.

Bin Khadem explained that the labor market needs cadres capable of advancing the wheel of economic development, and that responsibility is shared and does not lie with a specific entity, but planning for the future should be based on realistic data, forward-looking and studying rapid changes, as they are the way to chart the future of human resources.

He said that the sixth edition of the conference includes four main axes, which are the future and the sustainability of human resources, the effects of globalization on the human resource and social life, and the human resource in light of digital economic development, in addition to innovation, knowledge and forward-looking future generations.

Helping those with secondary education to study diploma

University of Sharjah Director, Dr. Hamid Mujul Al-Nuaimi, confirmed that the university has prepared training programs in line with the technological development to qualify the cadres at the level of students and employees in the emirate, explaining that the Human Resources Department prepared a study that included the statistics of the number of employees with secondary certificates, to ensure that they obtained a diploma through A future plan that will last five years, with the aim of qualifying them in all disciplines.
