"Muslims must not accept amalgamation"

"You have to put limits, limits," he explained on Wednesday to the microphone of Europe 1. "We know the secularism that addresses the state, the neutrality of the state. There is another secularism, which is addressed to the citizens: all must follow the same rule. There cannot be differentiated schedules at the swimming pool. That is French secularism, and I would like to say to our Muslim compatriots, those who practice a calm Islam perfectly compatible with the Republic, that they should not accept the amalgam, "continues the senator on the right. "For this, we must designate those who are radicalizing the minds creating new jihadist vocations".

"Cowardice has goals"

If certain laws, such as the right of revocation in public services, already exist, this cannot be enough for Bruno Retailleau. He takes the example of Michael Harpon, the author of the prefecture massacre. "He massacred four police officers. He had justified the attacks in 2015, and we kept him!", Is indignant the senator. "There is no need for new rights to exclude it, we had the necessary evidence. It takes courage, and that is what we are proposing with the amendment of the Constitution," says Bruno Retailleau.

"I also proposed the ban on communal lists, we know that there is a real risk in certain municipalities in France, such as Garges-lès-Gonesse, but each time I am told that it is not not possible, that scares. I accuse cowardice, but also of patronage. Cowardice has objectives, "insists Senator LR.

"For me the Republic is one, and this question crosses partisan divisions. I simply observe that my political family is the one that today carries the fight for secularism", explains Bruno Retailleau.
