According to him, the dismantling of the bas-relief was carried out by activists of nationalist organizations and students of the Odessa National University (ONU) named after Mechnikov.
It is noted that the opponents of dismantling tried to prevent the demolition of the bas-relief.
As a result, the bas-relief was taken away by car.
According to media reports, ONU rector Igor Koval gave permission for dismantling.
Earlier, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports of Ukraine refused to include the bust of Soviet Marshal Georgy Zhukov in Kharkov in the register of monuments.
