The Washington Post quoted a senior Sudanese military official as saying that the meeting of the President of the Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Uganda, was arranged for him by the Emirates, with the knowledge of Saudi Arabia and Egypt, and a narrow circle of senior Sudanese officials.

The official - who was not identified by the newspaper - added that the proof agreed to meet with Netanyahu, believing that this would speed up his country's removal from the list of state sponsors of terrorism.

In this context, Israeli media revealed details indicating that the meeting between Al-Burhan and Netanyahu was prepared for him in advance, as these media reported that the Israeli Prime Minister raised the issue of removing Sudan's name from the list of terrorism during his meeting with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo last week.

This comes as the Sudanese Sovereign Council announced on Sunday that the proof has received an invitation from the US Secretary of State for a visit considered the first in decades to Washington and that the proof will respond to this invitation.

The Israeli Prime Minister announced that the two parties discussed together ways of joint cooperation that would lead to the normalization of relations between the two countries.

Netanyahu praised the relations with Africa, and said before his arrival Uganda that Israel had returned to Africa and that Africa had returned to Israel, which is a clear celebration of relations with the brown continent, including Sudan, from the Israeli point of view that comes after a similar celebration of similar steps taken by Arab countries.

For his part, Sudanese Minister of Information Spokesman Faisal Muhammad Salih said that this meeting took place without the knowledge of the Council.

He added in a statement that the cabinet is awaiting the return of the proof to provide clarifications. Saleh indicated that the cabinet will convene today, Tuesday, to consider this matter.

Attempts and tribute
This comes while US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo praised what he considered to be the endeavors of the President of the Sovereign Council of Sudan Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan to normalize relations with Israel.

The State Department spokeswoman said that Pompeo and Al-Burhan confirmed in a phone call their desire to expand Sudan's participation regionally and internationally.

The director of the Al-Jazeera office in Khartoum, Muslim Al-Kabbashi, said that this Sudanese-Israeli meeting was preceded three weeks ago by the visit of Emirati Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash to Khartoum, but he indicated that the scenes of this meeting were not leaked and only talked about relations between the two countries.

Al-Kabbashi said that it is clear that the meeting between Al-Burhan and Netanyahu was prepared for weeks, and that the timing was chosen precisely after the American announcement of the American peace plan between the Palestinians and the Israelis, and that it comes amid a crisis of economic crisis witnessed by Sudan.

For his part, Walid Al-Omari, director of the Al-Jazeera office in Jerusalem, said that the Palestinians considered this Sudanese move a stab in the back, especially as it comes while they are mobilizing support against the American peace plan, or what is known as the century deal.

From the Palestinian point of view, this meeting served the American project and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu in the upcoming elections.
