His Highness also directed the formation of neighborhood councils in Dubai from retired citizens with experience, to manage neighborhood councils in Dubai, and to raise proposals regarding events and initiatives that contribute to improving the quality of life in their areas.

His Highness adopted a decision to exempt 422 citizens from defaulting on housing loans, and to exempt all citizens from mortgage fees.

His Highness directed a generous offer to citizens who build their homes for the first time, by exempting them from the electricity connection fees, in support of the stability of families, and to alleviate their financial burdens, provided that the value of the house does not exceed four million dirhams.

These decisions come in order to achieve the highest levels of stability and community welfare, and provide everything that would achieve the highest levels of satisfaction, happiness and improvement in the quality of life for citizens in all areas of service and development.

This came during the presidency of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the third meeting of the Dubai Council, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, First Deputy Chairman of the Dubai Council, and His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum , Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Second Deputy Chairman of the Dubai Council.

His Highness said: «We have ordered in the Dubai Council to build 12 integrated councils in all Dubai neighborhoods to be a meeting place for citizens, places for their gathering, their activities and social events. The Council also adopted a decision to develop a platform to receive citizens ’ideas about the facilities and facilities, yards and parks they wish to have in their neighborhoods and residential areas, and to set up a mechanism to review and evaluate these ideas and proposals to choose priority projects, and work to implement them, through the Dubaicouncil.ae website.
