According to the publication, social initiatives received the most approval: 91% of citizens expressed a rather positive attitude towards proposals to enshrine the mandatory regular indexation of pensions, benefits and other social benefits in the Constitution, 1% expressed a rather negative attitude.

The idea to fix the minimum wage is not lower than the subsistence minimum was rather positively assessed by 90%, rather negatively - 5%.

The initiative to increase the residency qualification for presidential candidates from 10 years to 25 years was supported by 87%, the material says. The idea to give the Constitutional Court the function of checking bills at the president’s request for compliance with the Basic Law was supported by 81% of respondents.

Another 68% supported the initiative to ban foreign citizenship and residence permits in other countries for a number of public servants.

On January 20, the head of state introduced a bill to the lower house of parliament on amendments to the country's main law, which included proposals submitted by Putin during his annual address to the Federal Assembly.

On January 23, deputies of the State Duma approved in the first reading a bill on amending the Constitution.

Putin suggested enshrining in the Constitution that persons with foreign citizenship or residence permit could not be prime minister, ministers and deputies. According to the project, the president’s maximum job at the post will be limited to two terms. It is also proposed to fix in the main law a guarantee that the minimum wage should not be less than the cost of living of the able-bodied population.
