Police were deployed to Texas A&M University after a February 3, 2020 shooting. - NBC Dallas

The university has just confirmed that there are at least three victims. Two people were killed and one shot injured on Monday at Texas A&M University. Shots were reported in a campus dormitory, and the facility was placed in containment as a precaution. It is not known at this point if the shooter is among the victims.

Active criminal investigation at Pride Rock. Shelter in place until further notice. All classes are canceled for the remainder of the day and evening at the A & M-Commerce campus.

Additional sheltering space is available at the Club and in the ballrooms at Rayburn Student Center.

The shooting did not take place on the main campus of Texas A & M University, which is near Houston, but on that of Commerce, northeast of Dallas, where 12,000 students are enrolled.
