The fall of the octogenarian, which could have had far more serious consequences, was cushioned by the technician who was inside the pipeline.
"It took the intervention of the GMSP [Mountain firefighters group] to help get the victim out by taking all the necessary precautions," said the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis) of the Alpes-Maritimes.
Transported to the hospital, the woman suffered from her left ankle and fibula, she also said. As for the worker who worked in the hole, the latter was not injured but is surely left for a great fright.
