“In general, foreign nationals ... who have traveled to China within 14 days of arrival (in the United States) will be denied entry to the United States,” the US Department of Homeland Security said in a statement.

An exception is made for those who have immediate family members in the United States, those who permanently reside in the United States, and also for members of flight crews.

US citizens who have been in Hubei for the past 14 days will be subject to mandatory quarantine for up to 14 days.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump's national security adviser Robert O'Brien said the US side was offering China assistance in the fight against coronavirus, but the Chinese side has not yet responded.
