SVT meets Tomas Colm, waste manager at Knivsta municipality, who shows off the new garbage cans. Each household will have two pieces with four different compartments in each barrel. Here, for example, you sort plastic packaging, glass and metal. The municipality is one of two municipalities in the county which is thus expected to start replacing its source sorting system.
- It is much smoother than before while it is better for the environment, says Tomas Colm.
The solution with the so-called four-compartment system already exists elsewhere in the country. According to Tomas Colm, some thirty municipalities already have this type of waste management.
