The talks, which took place at Al-Watan Palace in Abu Dhabi, dealt with bilateral relations between the UAE and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania in various fields, ways of developing and deepening them, in a way that strengthens the base of common interests between the two countries and two brotherly peoples, in addition to the situations in the Middle East and the Arab Gulf region.

The talks between the two sides also touched on Emirati-African relations in general, and regional and international issues and files of common concern.

His Highness added: “The UAE-Mauritanian relations have witnessed a great development since their establishment in 1973 in the political, economic, commercial, development and other fields, thanks to the keenness of the leaderships of the two countries to push them forward, out of fraternal ties.

And love between the two brotherly peoples, "stressing that" the UAE has a great interest in developing its relations with sister Mauritania, and pushing it towards broader horizons in the coming years, in the interest of the two countries. "

His Highness praised the positive and vital role played by the joint committee between the Emirates and Mauritania, and the important agreements between the two countries, which they reached through this committee, pointing out that «the UAE is counting on the role of the committee in achieving a qualitative shift in the course of bilateral relations during the coming period».

His Highness said: “The UAE and Mauritania have unified positions in the face of terrorism and extremism, and Mauritania is one of the effective countries in the face of terrorism in the Arab region, and we stand together to address this danger, which threatens Arab societies in their security, stability, development, present, and future.”

His Highness added: “Your dear brother country, through its membership in the group of African Sahel states, is considered a basic pillar of security and stability in the African coast, and the UAE is a main supporter of this gathering, which plays an important role in facing the dangers of terrorism and extremism.”

His Highness renewed his welcome to the Mauritanian President, confirming his confidence that his visit will contribute to developing and strengthening Emirati-Mauritanian relations at all levels during the coming period.
