Björn Olsen, professor and consultant in infectious diseases at Uppsala University and the Academic Hospital, agrees.

- I'm prepared to agree with Johan here. If you had asked me a week ago, I would have said: "Of course you can go to Thailand, there are only a few cases". But the situation develops very quickly, it is extremely dynamic. One, two, three so maybe we have hundreds of cases in Thailand, then it suddenly becomes difficult, he says.

"Higher pressure on health care"

According to Björn Olsen, an outbreak in Thailand could differ greatly compared to the outbreak in China.

- If you get an outbreak in Thailand, there will be much higher pressure on health care, it is a country with not as clear directives as China.

Does this only apply to Thailand?

- I would say that this also applies to Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.

The hill months away

According to Johan Giesecke and Björn Olsen, it is likely that the spread of infection will reach its peak in summer or autumn.

- It's not weeks away, it's months away, says Björn Olsen.
