The guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, the Health Department in Dubai, and the Public Health Center in Abu Dhabi confirmed that the educational environment in schools and universities is safe, and the use of masks is not recommended, in light of the usual conditions of students or educational staff.

The guidelines called for avoiding contact with people with flu-like symptoms, and advised parents of students to keep their children at home if respiratory symptoms such as coughs or colds appeared.

She also stressed the importance of giving the student a suspected muzzle injury, and taking the necessary medical action.

It also called on educational institutions to follow and publish guidelines for preventing transmission, including hand hygiene: washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, and using hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available. She noted the necessity of keeping classrooms, kitchens, canteens, toilets and bathrooms clean and hygienic. The school administration advised to maintain a good hygiene level in school buildings, through comprehensive cleaning and daily disinfection, and cleaning surfaces, furniture, toys and common ground daily using the appropriate disinfectant. Cleaners should also wear appropriate personal protective equipment, if infectious diseases are suspected.
