About this Lyakhovets told a member of the PMC Marina Litvinovich, who visited former police officers detained in the Golunov case.

“Lyakhovets told us that he considers the arrest unreasonable and will appeal it,” she told RT.

According to her, Lyakhovets is being held in violation of the law, one of his neighbors is previously convicted.

Former operative officer Maxim Umetbaev, Litvinovich said, is in a cell with an accused of robbery.

“We recorded similar violations in other cells where there are other accused and suspects who have nothing to do with the Golunov case,” she added.

In addition, Litvinovich said that another defendant - former police officer Denis Konovalov - could not get a toothbrush and toothpaste for two days in the ITT.

“He was given a toothbrush only after our intervention,” she said.

According to her, the defendants in the Golunov case are held in triple cells, without televisions and refrigerators; they do not complain about the conditions of detention.

On January 30, the Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested five former employees of the department for combating drug trafficking at the Internal Affairs Directorate in a closed joint-stock company in the capital’s headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to investigators, Denis Konovalov, Akbar Sergaliev, Roman Feofanov, Maxim Umetbaev and Igor Lyakhovets were members of a criminal group and in June 2019 threw prohibited substances to Golunov. The ex-police themselves do not admit guilt.
