A letter that Ellen Knight, the head of information security at the White House, sent to Bolton’s lawyers, in particular, states that the manuscript “cannot be published or otherwise disclosed until classified information is removed from it.”

Conclusions about the availability of such information in Bolton’s book were made by White House specialists based on the results of the “preliminary review”. As the administration noted, part of this information "is at a top-secret level," the television channel reports.

In October 2019, it became known that John Bolton intends to write a book about his tenure as National Security Advisor.

As Axios clarified, given that Bolton was writing a book about his tenure in the US administration under the presidency of George W. Bush, plans for new memoirs are of concern to the White House.

On September 10, US President Donald Trump announced that he had dismissed Bolton. The American leader explained his decision by saying that he did not agree with many of the proposals of his national security adviser.
