Opening: "Elles" by Clorinde

Sergeant Paper chooses Clorinde to open the ball of the 2020 exhibitions, with “Elles”. A set of works made with felt, pencil and rotring. But who are they? Behind "They" hide several states or feelings always represented by this recurring enigmatic figure. A woman, burned, fragmented, tied up but who nevertheless lives on the surface of the paper with a feeling of impassiveness. This is what gives all the power to Clorinde's drawings. In partnership with Le Hasard Ludique, Balance ton clip inaugurates a cycle of clips and stars and decodes the image of pop star Lady Gaga. Stars are the main selling point of the pop machine. But the marketing of their personality and their image, which organizes the "star system", is not free from contradictions. Their image is built halfway between marketing issues and individual characteristics: pop stars are not simply manufactured and controlled by the industry; they participate in the development and negotiation of their "persona", who maintains ambiguous links with their "real" personality (actual or supposed). Once their public image has been created, the stars are caught in an insoluble tension: they have to give pledges of sincerity and authenticity, but they cannot pour into banality or monotony.
