Olympic 4x100 m freestyle relay champion and multiple world swimming champion Jérémy Stravius ends his career six months before the Games, several media announced on Wednesday.

Jérémy Stravius, 31, will not try to qualify for his 3rd Olympic Games in Tokyo this summer (July 24 - August 9), indicate the Courier Picard and Nice Matin.

Stravius, a versatile swimmer, experienced his golden period in Amiens under the orders of Michel Chrétien, with whom he became a triple Olympic medalist: the silver in the 4x100 m freestyle in 2016 in Rio, the silver in the 4 x 200 m London in 2012 and especially the gold of 4 x 100 m in 2012 after an anthology race.

Stravius is also a quadruple world champion in the large basin: three relay titles (4x100m freestyle in 2013 and 2015, 4x100m freestyle in 2013) and an individual 100m backstroke title shared with his compatriot Camille Lacourt in 2011.

Since September he had left Amiens to join Nice and the group of Fabrice Pellerin.
