A witness tells SVT that a person was cut. On the scene, rescue personnel are now working to deal with the person's injuries, which according to information should be considerable.

- It looks really serious, says SVT's reporter Cecilia Hedlund, who came to the scene shortly after the incident.

Police say the course of events is unclear but information indicates some kind of trouble before the man was injured. When a patrol arrived at the scene, the injured man was found with a stab or cutting injury.

Helicopter and dogs track

The man is taken to Helsingborg's laser court and the police have no information on the damage situation and condition at the present time.

Police are now searching the area with helicopters and dog patrols. Whether it is one or more perpetrators is initially unclear.

"It is a bit unclear if there are one or more perpetrators, these should have left on foot and we are now tracking with dog patrol and helicopter," says Rickard Lundqvist, the police command center.

The police are interested in knowing more from any witnesses and are urging the public to hear or go to a police officer on the spot. A larger area is now blocked off.

Suspected fled

A witness tells SVT that they saw a man running from the scene.

- I saw that he was holding a knife that he was trying to hide, says the witness.

A gripe

The police tell at 19.33 that a person has been arrested.

- He was arrested elsewhere in Helsingborg, not in the immediate vicinity. At this stage, we do not know what role he has had, but he is suspected of being involved in this incident, says Rickard Lundqvist at the police.

At the same time, the entrance to the emergency room has been barred for the care business to continue without interruption.

- We are there for preventive purposes, a lot of people have gathered that we perceive as familiar to the injured person. We are there to avoid a serious disruption of order and make a selective entry.

Do you know anything about the man's condition?

- Right now we have no information, he gets care.
