This was reported in the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“An exchange of views took place on pressing issues of non-proliferation and arms control. The situation around the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan for the Iranian Nuclear Program has been examined, ”the commentary says.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry expressed hope for preventing further escalation around the nuclear deal with Iran after the meeting of the joint JCPOA commission scheduled for February.

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also noted that an attempt to launch a dispute settlement mechanism under the JCPOA suggests that the EU took advantage of the situation to blame Iran.

On January 14, France, Germany and Britain announced the launch of a dispute resolution mechanism for the Iranian nuclear deal.

In Iran, they called such a move of the European trio a strategic mistake.
