Under the seabed in Forsmark, the nuclear waste from the other nuclear power plants, which will soon be demolished, must be stored. But alternative investments for this short-lived waste have not been sufficiently investigated, says Joachim Stormvall, informant at the Environmental Organizations' nuclear waste review, MKG.

He and several other environmental organizations believe that there is a risk of placing the final repository so close to the sea, and that independent expertise is needed to review the final repository and how the water flows through the final repository will occur over time.

But Swedish Nuclear Fuel Management, SKB, believes that the safety around final disposal of nuclear waste in Forsmark is good.

- There are both braces and straps, says Klas Källström, project manager at SKB.
