Athletics Association on the message: A good decision that has been made

- It feels good that there will be a message, that you have made a decision. And I also think that, based on the conditions, a good decision has been made, says Stefan Olsson, secretary general of the Athletics Association to SVT News.

The championship would have taken place in Nanjing in March. The Swedish Athletic Association is now commenting on the message.

On its website, the International Athletics Association writes:
"It is with great regret that we have decided to postpone the Athletics World Cup in Nanjing (March 13-15), after consultation with the organizers, until March 2021".

Was it an unexpected message?

- No. The feeling this past week is that it has gone in that direction, given the developments that have been, says Stefan Olsson.

Has there been a concern among the athletes who were heading there?

- My opinion is that there has been more and more talk about a feeling of concern in recent weeks. We have not looked exactly, but the feeling has been that there is a concern.
