Al-Jazeera correspondents reported that today, Tuesday, the Israeli occupation forces stormed the West Bank city of Bethlehem from its northern entrance, and announced the closure of the doors of Al-Aqsa Mosque, in the midst of escalating Palestinian protests against the American peace plan.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said that its crews dealt with 41 casualties during clashes that broke out with the Israeli occupation forces in the northern Jordan Valley, the Arroub camp in Hebron, Tulkarm and the city of Al-Bireh.

The confrontations came during peaceful demonstrations that took place in protest of US President Donald Trump's announcement of his plan to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

Protesters chanted angry slogans to condemn the plan, and to demand its overthrow, and raised Palestinian flags, along with banners that read on each of them "Down with the deal of the century" and "Palestine is not for sale".

The occupation forces attacked the participants in the protests at the northern entrance to the city of Bethlehem, and fired gas and sound bombs to them, while official and private institutions closed their doors to protest the announcement of the deal.

In Jabalia camp, in the northern Gaza Strip, dozens of school students demonstrated, burning tires of used rubber vehicles, and similar clashes erupted at the entrance to Al-Aroub camp in the city of Hebron.

In the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, dozens of young men and students demonstrated in separate groups, and chanted against the alleged deal, as well as official Palestinian and trade union organizations in Gaza City organized vigils that rejected the deal.

The occupation forces continue to suppress a peaceful march organized by the National Campaign for the Protection of the Jordan Valley in Tubas and the northern Jordan Valley.

Immediately after US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday his plan for peace in the Middle East, dozens of Palestinian youth in the cities of Ramallah, Nablus, Qalqilya and Bethlehem rose up and clashed with the occupation soldiers, and the Palestinian Red Crescent announced that many were suffocated by tear gas.

A citizen was injured by rubber bullets at the entrance to the city of Al-Bireh, near Ramallah. Others were suffocated in Al-Eizariya town, east of Jerusalem.

The Israeli occupation army has started since yesterday morning to spread in several areas and major axes in the West Bank, especially the military checkpoints, and closed the entrances to Palestinian villages and cities as it did at the entrance to the city of Al-Bireh and areas south of Nablus, and stressed its actions on the checkpoints by erecting many mobile checkpoints Detaining and searching Palestinian vehicles.
