The Leisure Bank started in the Warmland town of Deje in 2007. Today it has spread to various places in the country. Östergötland's only leisure bank is located in Norrköping.
The idea is to collect used sports gadgets. It can be anything from riding helmets, through football shoes to slalom skis. Then the stuff is lent out to anyone who needs equipment. After 14 days the gadgets are returned and someone else can try a new sport, for example.
- Sometimes whole families come, sometimes the children themselves. It's open to everyone, says Hassan Hanna Deeb.
For many, this is a simple and economical way to try for example downhill skiing without having to buy expensive equipment.
