The snow cover is thin and largely non-existent in many parts of the county, but in the far west there is plenty of snow.

Sweden's official snow depth is right now in Kittelfjäll in southern Lapland mountains where there is 127 centimeters of snow. Storlien-Storvallen's 90 centimeters is the highest snow depth among SMHI's measuring stations in southern Norrland and 90 centimeters gives a fifth place in the snow depth league. The four Swedish resorts that report more snow can be found in Norrbotten and Västerbotten.
