Two Algerian officers were killed in the crash of their military plane about 400 km east of the Algerian capital, the Ministry of Defense announced today, Tuesday.

In a statement, the ministry said that an investigation had been opened to determine "the causes and causes of the Su-30 plane crash during a night training flight."

She added that "the plane crashed in a place free of residents on the outskirts of Mashta Shemout, 16 km from the municipality of Ain Al-Zaytoun in the state of Umm Al-Baqi, which resulted in the martyrdom of the pilot and his assistant."

In recent years, there have been several incidents involving Algerian military aircraft, resulting in hundreds of casualties. In April 2018, the Ilyushin-76 crashed while taking off, south of the capital, and 257 passengers, most of whom were military, were killed in the worst air disaster in the country's history, and in February 2014 77 people - military and family members - were killed in the Hercules S-130 plane crash east of the capital.
