According to the indictment, the man is said to have had more than two quartiles of alcohol in his blood, when he testified that he drove well above the permitted speed and then drove off the road and the vehicle was full.

In addition to the driver, four people were in the car. Two of the passengers died from the severe injuries they sustained in the crash, while the other two were injured.

The driver is now liable for gross drunk driving, gross negligence in traffic, two cases of gross negligence to the death of another and gross negligence to bodily injury.
