“As the outbreak of coronavirus intensifies, the EU Civil Protection Mechanism was activated after France’s request for consular support to EU citizens in Wuhan,” the EC said.
It is noted that two planes will be used to return EU citizens from the Wuhan region to Europe.
The first plane should fly from France in the morning of January 29, and the second - later this week.
The press release says that “EU citizens who are present in the region and want to be back can still ask for it.”
According to primary data, about 250 French citizens will be transported on the first plane, and more than 100 EU citizens from other countries will be transported on the second plane.
Earlier, the State Department increased the risk of travel to China to the third level, calling for a review of decisions on possible travel to China in connection with the spread of coronavirus infection.
