The Palestinian presidency called on Arab and Muslim ambassadors not to participate in the ceremonies of US President Donald Trump's announcement of his peace plan Tuesday evening, and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas confirmed his rejection of any deal, in reference to Trump's plan.

"We call on Arab and Muslim ambassadors, who have been invited to attend the announcement of the ill-fated century deal tomorrow, not to participate in these ceremonies, which we consider to be a conspiracy aimed at undermining the rights of our Palestinian people and thwarting the establishment of a state Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital. "

He pointed out that a number of ambassadors of Arab and Islamic countries who were invited to them refused to participate.

US President Donald Trump plans to announce the alleged plan Tuesday evening, in the presence of both outgoing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Chairman of the Blue and White party Benny Gantz, Netanyahu's most prominent rival in the March 2 parliamentary elections.

In a related context, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas stressed adherence to the two-state solution on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, stressing the rejection of any deal from any party in the world, in reference to the alleged deal of the century.

Abbas expressed - during contact with British Foreign Secretary Dominic Rap - his willingness to achieve peace in accordance with the decisions of international legitimacy, and to conduct negotiations in which the Quartet and a number of other countries participate, stressing his rejection of any role of the United States alone in the political process, due to its apparent bias.

This came at a time when Palestinian sources said that President Mahmoud Abbas told members of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fatah) that he had received threats to pay the price of not answering a phone call from President Trump.

A "good" plan
The American President said yesterday that the Palestinians should welcome his peace plan, describing it as good for them, stressing that he would not implement it without them.

Trump said - in statements during his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington - that his plan, which he described as logical, has a chance to succeed, and he will announce it on Tuesday evening.

For his part, Netanyahu said that the American peace plan may be an opportunity of the century, and President Trump described him as Israel's best friend in the White House.

After meeting with the US President in the White House, leader of the Blue and White Alliance Benny Gantz said that the American peace plan with the Palestinians is important and historic, and represents a cornerstone, and he will implement it after the Israeli elections, and through coordination with countries in the region.

Gantz added that he had spoken with President Trump about the importance of dialogue with the Palestinians, and with Jordan's King Abdullah II in particular.

Gantz thanked the American president for his support of Israel in confronting Iran, for his recognition of the Israeli sovereignty over the Golan, and for moving the American embassy to Jerusalem.

He revealed that he and Trump raised the issue of missing soldiers in Gaza and the escalation taking place on the Syrian and Lebanese fronts.

President Abbas spoke of his threat to pay the price for his refusal to receive a phone call from Trump (Anatolia)

reactions
In this context, Elliot Engel, Chairman of the US House Foreign Affairs Committee and Senate Foreign Relations Committee member Bob Menendez, affirmed their support for the option of negotiations to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, and the establishment of two democratic, Israeli, Jewish and viable Palestinian states.

In a statement, Engel and Menendez considered that the establishment of a Palestinian state would provide a haven for millions of Palestinians, and they called on Trump to support the Palestinian people's right to self-determination.

Engel and Menendez urged the president to recommit to helping the parties return to the negotiating table.

And Israel, Amir Peretz, leader of the left-wing Labor Meretz coalition in Israel, said that any unilateral annexation of Palestinian lands should be opposed, and that any change or division of territories should be through dialogue and negotiations with the Palestinians.

He believed that ending the conflict should be based on the basis of the two-state solution, otherwise, any other solution would pose a danger to what the Zionist dream called a Jewish state.

Peretz, who was speaking to an Israeli channel, added that it is not possible to establish a Palestinian state composed of cantons.

For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif wrote in a tweet on Twitter that instead of what he described as the "fictitious deal of the century that will be dead" it is better for those who describe themselves as "heroes of democracy" to accept Iran's democratic solution proposed by Ayatollah Khamenei, which is a referendum Under it, all Palestinians, Muslims, Jews or Christians, decide their future.

For its part, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) considered the alleged "deal of the century" as a new catastrophe for the Palestinian people.

A statement by the movement's spokesman, Fawzi Barhoum, said that this deal is "a dual American-Israeli aggression against Palestine," noting that its failure is everyone's responsibility.

Barhoum called for the Palestinian Authority to announce an immediate end to security coordination with Israel, unleash security and youth forces and resistance to protect the country and its people, to defend land and holy sites and to lift sanctions on the Gaza Strip.

On Monday, the Palestinian factions in Gaza announced that the next two days were a "day of rage", rejecting Trump's plan.
