A commercial airplane belonging to the state-owned airline Ariana has crashed in the province of Ghazni in central Afghanistan, a representative of the regional authorities said.

The crash happened in the Deh Yak district, says Khaliqdad Akbari in Ghazni's provincial council, according to the Afghan media company Tolo News.

According to unconfirmed data from local media, 83 people were on board the plane.
