An elegant robot was used in the United States to treat a patient with the new coronavirus, according to CNN.

The patient is a man in his thirties who attended the emergency room because he believed he was suffering from the symptoms of the new Corona virus, and he was confirmed to be infected with the virus on Monday.

The man had recently traveled to Wuhan, China, which made him anxious about the injury, which he later confirmed, and doctors placed him in isolation, now in stable condition.

Patient treatment with a robot in the United States reduces medical staff exposure to the virus, equips the robot with a stethoscope, takes vital man measurements and transmits them to doctors outside the patient's room via a screen.

"The nursing staff in the room are moving the robot around it so we can see the patient on the screen, and talk to him," said George Diaz, head of the infectious disease department at the Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, Washington.

Although in stable condition, the man has not yet been released, and doctors have requested additional tests for the patient.

These tests should show if the man is still infectious. Meanwhile, health officials in Washington state contacted 43 people who were considered "in close contact" with the patient.

Close-up contacts are defined as anyone who may be one to two meters away from an infected patient.
