It was at the end of November 2017 that construction work was ongoing in connection with a county road in Köinge in Falkenberg Municipality. The goal was to lay fiber cable.

When two of the workers were working in a 2.5-meter-deep pit, suddenly masses of land collapsed over them, covering their bodies. Both suffered injuries on, among other things, shoulders and had to be sickened for a shorter time.

Denies crime

A representative of the company that was behind the work is now being prosecuted for work environment crimes. Among other things, there should not have been sufficient investigations of the soil and possible risks.

Furthermore, no information should have been provided to the workers on how to prevent racial accidents.

The defendant denies the crime.
